Schedule: Monday – Friday 1st shift – Saturdays as needed

United Ag & Turf NE is looking for a Wirtgen Specialist. This position is responsible for providing support to United personnel and our customers with our Wirtgen roadbuilding products to ensure equipment issues are resolved in a timely manner. They utilize industry experience, machinery background, and customer service skills to engage problems proactively and communicate with internal staff.


What You’ll Do

  • Work directly with shop and field technicians in diagnosing complex or difficult product issues to determine root cause and corrective action needed.
  • Provide assistance in performing equipment or component failure analysis to determine if warranty coverage is applicable.
  • Works with UCFNE service writers to ensure proper and timely filing of warranty documentation.
  • Act as the principal internal contact for Wirtgen Gup service personnel, engineers and/or product managers in resolving customer product issues.
  • Evaluate technician capabilities and provide training and/or recommendations to management to improve technical skills and capabilities.
  • Provide support to sales on any complex or new machine attachment installations to ensure equipment is installed in accordance with OEM guidelines to minimize application failures.
  • Work with sales and product support to resolve machine application issues, particularly those caused by machine modifications, work tools and other attachments.
  • Assists sales on high opportunity or new product demonstrations.
  • Work with key customers to help them improve maintenance practices to increase machine performance, reliability, and uptime.
  • Promote utilization of company CRM to ensure optimal internal customer issue/opportunity communications.
  • Review branch service department’s equipment and tooling and provide recommendations to management for them to effectively service specific equipment in their territory.
  • Maintain Factory Level Technical Certifications for Wirtgen Group product lines.
  • Assist in technician recruiting initiatives and determining qualifications and capabilities during interviews with prospects.
  • Assist Customer Support Advisors (CSA) team with training for winter inspections and quoting large or complex repair jobs.
  • Assist in performing trade evaluations on multi-unit deals or high dollar value trades.
  • Attend local industry Associations meetings as necessary.
  • This role may require the employee to be engaged with customers outside of normal daily working hours.
  • Specialist will work independently or with other UCFNE technicians to maintain maximum customer uptime and productivity.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Preferred

Experience with Wirtgen equipment is preferred, along with 3 to 5 years of related field experience in road construction or heavy equipment service. Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills are essential. Effective communication and organizational abilities are required. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel are necessary.

The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, and walk. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Salary Description
$40,000 - $85,000
