Material Handler- 1st Shift
Description

Job Summary


This position compiles and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas. 


Duties

  • Reads production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority
  • Move materials (using a forklift or pallet jack) and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas 
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and to inform supervisors of material status
  • Examine material received, verifies parts numbers, and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts
  • May assist in packaging boxed finished goods for motor freight shipment, such as banding, 
  • marking, strapping, etc.
  • Perform any related duties as required or assigned


Requirements

Requirements, Education, Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have forklift/tow motor experience and be able to pass certification test. 
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and on occasion up to 75lbs. 
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and basic mathematical ability.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. 
  • Must be comfortable working in fast-paced environment.
