Hot Laps Program Manager

Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. COTALAND is an amusement park with over 30 attractions and experiences, including first-of-their-kind roller coasters. 


The Hot Lap Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, execution, and continuous improvement of COTALAND’S premium Hot Lap program. This role oversees all operational aspects of the program, including fleet management, part inventory, vehicle maintenance, staffing, safety and event execution. The ideal candidate is an organized and decisive leader with a passion for motorsports who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering a great service understanding the needs of the program. 


This position serves as the onsite leader for all Hot Lap activities and is accountable for ensuring operations are executed safely, efficiently, and at the highest standard. 

Requirements

Program Operations

  • Oversee all daily operations of the Hot Lap program.  
  • Develop and execute operational plans that ensure a safe, efficient, and premium guest experience.  
  • Continuously evaluate and improve program procedures, workflows, and operating standards.  
  • Maintain readiness of the program for daily operations, special events, and private experiences.  


Fleet Management

  • Manage the complete inventory of program vehicles.  
  • Coordinate daily maintenance, repairs, inspections, fueling, tire management, and detailing as well as spare part inventory directly with dealer/OEM. 
  • Work closely with mechanics and vendors to maximize fleet availability and reliability.  


Staffing & Leadership

  • Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise drivers, mechanics, and support staff.  
  • Ensure staffing levels appropriately support daily operations, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.  
  • Foster a culture centered on professionalism, safety, accountability, and exceptional hospitality.  


Guest Experience

  • Champion a world-class guest experience from arrival through departure.  
  • Ensure guests receive professional communication, seamless logistics, and memorable on-track experiences.  
  • Resolve guest concerns quickly while maintaining the highest service standards in conjunction with COTALAND leadership team members.  


Safety & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all COTA track safety standards and operating procedures.  
  • Conduct daily safety briefings with staff and drivers.  
  • Monitor track conditions, weather, vehicle readiness, and operational risks.  
  • Maintain all required operational documentation and safety records including thorough incident reporting.  


Inventory & Asset Management

  • Maintain accountability for all program equipment, radios, helmets, driver gear, uniforms, tools, and operational assets.  
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing of supplies and replacement equipment.  
  • Assist with development and tracking of annual budgeting and expense management.  


 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in motorsports operations, event operations, fleet management, hospitality, or related field.  
  • Previous leadership or program management experience preferred.  
  • Strong understanding of motorsports operations and vehicle safety.  
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.  
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.  
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.  
  • Experience managing budgets, inventories, and operational schedules.  
  • Comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended event hours.  
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.  


Preferred Qualifications

  • Performance driving experience or motorsports competition experience.  
  • Experience working at racetracks or motorsports facilities.  
  • Emergency response or safety management experience.  
  • Mechanical aptitude or experience working with high-performance vehicles.  
  • First Aid, CPR, or emergency response certifications.
