Bryn Mawr Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility (SMHRF) in Chicago, IL, has an immediate opening for an Experienced Cook This is a Full-Time - 32-40 hours/week, Union position, Non-Exempt Rate is $19.50 per hour. Must have Healthcare experience and be eligible to work per the IDPH Registry. Buffet/Cafeteria style.
Hours are 12:30p-8p. Must be able to work every other weekend. Conveniently located near CTA Red Line -- just south of Bryn Mawr on Kenmore Avenue in the Uptown/Edgewater neighborhood.

Responsibilities of the Cook:
· Prepare food in a timely manner in accordance with dietary requirements
· Follow standardized recipes in food preparation
· Inspect special dietary trays before service to ensure they are correct
· May serve food on the food tray line
· Supervise and/or assist in receiving and check in of deliveries of food and supplies
· Follow work/cleaning schedules
· Maintain clean, organized and safe kitchen

Requirements of the Cook:
· Previous experience as a Cook
· Must have Sanitation Certification
· Must be able to read English and interpret Resident Diet Cards
· Must be capable of following written and oral instructions concerning specific methods of the preparation of foods and beverages
· Must be familiar with seasonings, understand cooking times and follow sanitation requirements
· Experience in a long term healthcare facility and MUST PASS A COMPLETE BACKGROUND CHECK INCLUDING FINGERPRINTING
· Strong organizational skills
· Professional and personable demeanor
· Must have compassion, tolerance and understanding for patients
