PCG Consulting International partners with healthcare organizations to solve complex operational, technology, and business challenges that improve financial performance and patient care. PCG Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Server & Healthcare Data Consultant to support a large-scale hospital revenue recovery and operational stabilization initiative.


This consultant will provide advanced SQL Server, healthcare data analysis, and data reconciliation expertise across clinical, financial, operational, and billing systems. The role will focus on extracting, validating, and analyzing healthcare data needed to identify revenue cycle breakdowns, support claim reconstruction, and restore reliable financial operations.

Working closely with Healthcare Data Architects, Paragon consultants, Revenue Cycle professionals, HIM and Coding teams, and integration specialists, the Senior SQL Server & Healthcare Data Consultant will help determine what data remains available, whether it is complete and accurate, and how it can be transformed into usable financial and claim-ready records.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and data extracts.
  • Analyze clinical, encounter, charge, billing, claims, and payment data.
  • Extract data from Paragon and related hospital information systems.
  • Validate data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
  • Reconcile information across clinical, financial, and operational data sources.
  • Identify missing, duplicated, inconsistent, or incorrectly mapped records.
  • Support claim reconstruction and revenue recovery activities.
  • Assist with data profiling, cleansing, transformation, and normalization.
  • Analyze charge capture and billing data to identify workflow or system failures.
  • Support ETL processes and repeatable data recovery routines.
  • Collaborate with Data Architects to create logical and physical data mappings.
  • Partner with application, interface, revenue cycle, HIM, and coding teams.
  • Develop reports and datasets for operational and financial analysis.
  • Troubleshoot SQL Server database and data-processing issues.
  • Document query logic, data definitions, reconciliation methods, and findings.
  • Communicate data risks and recommendations to project leadership.


Engagement Details

  • Project-Based W2 consulting employment.
  • Work is expected to be performed primarily remotely.
  • Occasional onsite meetings or working sessions in the Chicago metropolitan area may be required.
  • Weekly hours may vary based on project phase, workstream priorities, and client needs.
  • The initial engagement is expected to span several months, with the possibility of extension.

This engagement offers the opportunity to apply advanced SQL Server and healthcare data expertise to a complex hospital recovery initiative. You will work with experienced healthcare, revenue cycle, data, application, and technical professionals to recover critical information, improve data integrity, and support the restoration of accurate billing and reimbursement operations.

Requirements
  • 8+ years of SQL Server, data analysis, database development, or healthcare data experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
  • Experience developing complex queries, joins, stored procedures, views, and data-validation routines.
  • Strong experience working with healthcare clinical, financial, billing, or revenue cycle data.
  • Knowledge of hospital data models, including patient, encounter, charge, coding, claim, and payment information.
  • Experience reconciling information across multiple databases and source systems.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, data integrity, and financial reconciliation.
  • Experience with ETL processes and large healthcare datasets.
  • Ability to translate technical findings into clear operational and business recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical or database experience with the Paragon EHR and Patient Accounting platform.
  • Experience supporting hospital revenue cycle recovery, claim reconstruction, or billing remediation initiatives.
  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS, Azure Data Factory, or similar data integration and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of healthcare claims and transaction formats, including 837 and 835 files.
  • Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, APIs, or healthcare interfaces.
  • Experience with Power BI or other healthcare reporting and analytics tools.
  • Healthcare consulting experience.
  • Experience supporting acute care hospitals or multi-hospital health systems.
