Greenwood Development is seeking a reliable, self-motivated Facilities Technician to help maintain our portfolio of office, retail, and mixed-use properties throughout Greenwood, SC.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys tackling challenges, takes pride in their work, and understands that maintaining buildings is ultimately about supporting the people who use them. Our Facilities Technicians engage daily with tenants, contractors, vendors, and visitors, so strong communication, professionalism, and a service-oriented mindset are just as essential as technical expertise.
We’re seeking a versatile maintenance professional with experience across multiple trades and a solid working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems. In this role, you’ll identify issues, perform preventative maintenance, coordinate repairs, and help ensure our properties remain safe, efficient, and well-maintained.
Building Maintenance
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs across commercial properties.
- Complete minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose building issues and determine effective solutions.
- Respond to tenant maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Assist with suite renovations, move-ins, move-outs, and property improvement projects.
- Inspect and maintain life safety equipment and overall building conditions.
Building Systems
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance on HVAC-related equipment, including filter changes, basic inspections, thermostats, and fan coil units.
- Monitor building systems and proactively identify potential issues.
- Coordinate with specialized HVAC contractors for advanced diagnostics and repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and preventative maintenance schedules.
Operations
- Complete work orders, inspections, and maintenance documentation accurately and on time.
- Communicate proactively with management regarding building conditions, safety concerns, and maintenance priorities.
- Coordinate work with tenants, vendors, and contractors.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory.
- Work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in commercial facilities or building maintenance.
- Working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and the ability to recognize common mechanical issues.
- Experience with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building repairs.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification preferred. Candidates without certification must be willing and able to obtain it within six months of hire.
