Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Supervisor to coordinate and oversee the daily operations of a small team of forklift operators within our warehouse facility. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organizational and communication skills, along with the ability to motivate, train, and mentor team members in a fast-paced environment. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity to ensure all warehouse activities are executed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct forklift operators to meet daily operational targets
- Safely operate a heavy forklift(20ton or larger)
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols in compliance with company standards
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and ensure adherence to maintenance schedules
- Assist with general warehouse operations to maintain workflow efficiency
- Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Ensure accurate inventory tracking and task completion reporting
- Verify trailers and equipment are safe to enter prior to loading
- Complete shipping documentation and system transitions to ensure shipment and inventory accuracy
- Maintain prompt and professional communication with clients, drivers, and guests
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of team lead or supervisory experience
- Minimum of 3 years of heavy forklift operation experience
- Proficiency in inventory management systems (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts
- Valid driver’s license and forklift certification required
- Ability to regularly lift 50–75 pounds
- Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions
