Paint Shop Helper
Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As directed, assist in preparing and cleaning items and surfaces to be coated – mask, plug, or block finished, machined or other surfaces as directed;
  • Assist in assembling, maintenance, repair and cleaning of abrasive blasting and painting equipment;
  • Ensure needed paint and coating supplies are on hand and staged for production;
  • Load parts or equipment for paint onto hanging racks, tables, or horses;
  • May assist in mixing and thinning the coatings according to manufacturer’s recommendations;
  • Perform housekeeping activities, this includes, but is not limited to, picking up of all debris that results from production activities; properly storing all materials and equipment when they are not in use; properly storing and disposing of waste;
  • Upkeep of coating booths and storage areas;
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment complying with company and governmental rules and regulations;
  • Other duties as directed by Production Manager or Operations Manager.

  • Ability to follow specific directions – written or verbal.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties which may change often.
  • Willingness to learn all aspects of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Possess good communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Prior experience in assisting role in industrial coating facility desirable, but not required. 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be capable of lifting and moving material weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and work on your feet for an entire shift.
  • Physical requirements are those typically found in a manufacturing environment.
