Senior Impact Strategist

Position Summary
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester is recruiting for a Senior Impact Strategist to strengthen the organization’s capacity to learn from data and to improve client outcomes. The individual in this visionary role is responsible for advancing Catholic Charities’ commitment to achieving the greatest possible impact for the people we serve. This role focuses on better understanding who we serve, the impact of our work, and what we can learn from data—and communicating those insights in clear, compelling ways that inform decisions and strengthen services.
The Senior Impact Strategist will:
- Provide subject-matter expertise and hands-on leadership to expand and integrate data collection, analysis, reporting, and evaluation related to client service delivery across the organization.
- Lead the design and adoption of tools and processes that support a culture of inquiry and practices that deepen the use of data to drive results and inform strategic direction.
- Translate data into actionable insights through data storytelling—developing clear, compelling narratives that inform decisions for executive leadership, program leaders, and the Board.
- Strengthen our capacity to ensure services delivered create the best possible outcomes for clients.
- Champion a culture of data-informed decision-making and continuous learning.
The Senior Impact Strategist will be embedded in the organization’s work—building shared tools, strengthening local capacity, and fostering alignment across agencies. This role ensures that insights from agency experience inform organizational direction, and that enterprise-level approaches meaningfully support agency success.
Reporting to the President & Diocesan Director, and working closely with executive leadership, program leaders and external partners, the Senior Impact Strategist will position Catholic Charities to maximize mission effectiveness and operational excellence and communicate key insights in ways that support strategic decision-making and organizational alignment.
This is an onsite position based in Catholic Charities’ Rochester office and requires some travel to sites within the 12-county service area.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Elevating capacity for data collection, aggregation, and analysis
- Supporting reporting needs
- Defining and Driving Impact Strategy
- Identifying and Applying evidence based research to improve organizational performance
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Support for the mission and values of Catholic Charities
- Proven experience leading impact measurement, evaluation, or program performance in complex nonprofit or human services organizations.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with expertise in data analysis, data management systems, data visualization software, metrics development, and reporting.
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights and compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public health, or a related field, as well as 3-5 years of related experience, is required. Graduate degree is preferred (MPH, MED, MPP, or a related field).
- Exceptional collaboration, communication, and change management capabilities.
- Passion for social justice, poverty alleviation, and community impact.

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary in the range of $75,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on education and experience. We also offer a highly competitive benefits package.
