Position Summary
Kelly Generator & Equipment is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Sales Project Coordinator to support our New Unit Sales team. This position serves as the primary coordinator for commercial and industrial Generac generator sales projects after a customer purchase order has been received, ensuring projects move efficiently from order entry through delivery, startup, and closeout.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with multiple departments, and takes pride in delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project requirements and equipment scope.
- Prepare accurate equipment quotations and proposals based on customer specifications.
- Coordinate RFQs with contractors, engineers, manufacturers, and vendors to obtain complete project information.
- Identify missing or conflicting information within plans and specifications and proactively seek clarification.
- Communicate with vendors to obtain pricing, lead times, technical data, and product information.
- Enter, maintain, and update opportunities, quotes, and customer information within the CRM system.
- Support Sales Engineers and Outside Sales Representatives throughout the quotation and sales process.
- Respond to incoming customer inquiries related to new unit sales in a professional and timely manner.
- Track multiple quotations and ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth project handoff after project award.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of generator systems, power generation equipment, and related products.
- Build positive working relationships with customers, contractors, manufacturers, and internal team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- 2–5 years of experience in estimating, inside sales, project coordination, customer service, or technical sales support.
- Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, or technical documentation.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects or quotations simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred
- Experience in power generation, electrical, industrial equipment, construction, HVAC, or mechanical industries.
- Experience supporting outside sales teams.
- Experience using CRM software.
