Description

We are currently seeking a Quality Lab Associate who would be responsible for testing raw material, catalyst strength, geometry, physical properties, batch characteristics, process audits of workflow, adherence to control plans and procedures and finished goods audits of workmanship. Quality Lab Associates also ensure measurement tolerances for project designs, product appearance, labeling, and packaging.

Schedule:

This is a position on the 2.2.3 rotation with hours 7am-7:30pm.



What You Will Be Doing:

  • Perform testing and data review to product specifications for surface area, element geometry, abrasion, material strength, water absorption, shrinkage, chemistry composition, wet sieve, and other testing as required by internal or external demands
  • Sample preparation and shipment for offsite testing at offsite plant(s) or 3rd party vendors
  • Follow established methodologies to produce accurate / reliable data along with performing sensitive measurements that require high precision
  • Clean and maintain laboratory, testing equipment and quality work area(s) located on the manufacturing floor
  • Document all activities and record testing results in appropriate electronic and manual files.
  • Release recycles, incoming raw materials, batches, QP Samples, ON HOLD product, and other components as required
  • Communicate quality alerts and process audit findings as needed and facilitate / support communication throughout entire organization.
  • Perform Module Workmanship and PPM audits
  • Audit processes, set-ups, procedures, control plans
  • Understand Quality Plan and how to follow it
  • Write SOP’s, WI’s, PCR’s, DCR’s non-conformances and corrective actions, as needed
Requirements

What You Will Bring:

  • High School diploma / GED required
  • Associates Degree in a Science field or minimum 2 yrs experience in a laboratory setting
  • Certification in Mixing, Activation or FGI
  • Strong communications skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, able to work independently of direct supervision, assumes ownership of task and drives to completion, detail oriented.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Experience in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point)
  • Ability to work A/B Team, 12 hour shifts or other assigned hours, depending on production needs.
  • Dedication to a safe working environment


The Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with a mix of in the plant field activity
  • Mechanical noise
  • Dusty and dirty work environment due to materials and raw materials
  • Varying temperatures from warm to cold


The Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift push, pull, and carry 25 pounds frequently.
  • Must pass respirator fit test
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry 50 pounds occasionally
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Walking, stooping, bending, crouching, twisting, climbing, and kneeling

Cormetech is located in Durham North Carolina and Cleveland Tennessee. This position will be based out of our Cleveland, TN location. This position will be in-person.
