THE OPPORTUNITY
The Strategic Account Manager for Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection is responsible for driving sales growth and maximizing revenue within an assigned portfolio of travel agency accounts across California and Hawaii. This role builds and strengthens relationships with existing partners, expands brand awareness, identifies new business opportunities, and executes strategic sales initiatives that increase market share and achieve revenue goals.
As a trusted ambassador for the Uniworld brand, the Strategic Account Manager represents the company with professionalism, enthusiasm, and credibility across the travel industry. Success in this role requires exceptional sales acumen, a strong work ethic, and a positive, "can-do" attitude, coupled with a passion for delivering outstanding partner experiences and achieving ambitious sales goals.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop and implement customized sales, marketing, and engagement plans for key accounts by leveraging the Consultative Sales Process (CSP) to identify opportunities and address each client's unique needs.
- Strengthen relationships and achieve growth with key accounts through regular contact and informative updates with respect to their productivity and progress; help accounts achieve their goals.
- Provide robust training opportunities for agents through in person and virtual engagement, trainings, client presentations, product information sessions and ongoing website and e-commerce strategies and escort familiarization trips for travel advisors as necessary.
- Ensure marketing collateral is utilized to its fullest potential; ensure that the collection of brands have prominent placement in key account agencies. Effectively manage brochure supply and regional distribution.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Evaluate ROI of potential trade and consumer shows/events and participate are beneficial. Continually identify new shows/events that would be beneficial to the brand.
- Stay abreast of competitor information in designated territory and stay updated on trends within the industry. Provide feedback to management team with respect to trends and opportunities.
- Ensure that all requested sales reports are accurate, detailed, and submitted within the desired time frame.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities in Salesforce; record training's, appointments, tasks, customer feedback and other sales activities in a timely manner. Utilize Salesforce reports to provide useful information to agents during every call and in regular e-mail communication.
- Maintain KPIs annual and seasonal. Including but not limited to Aladdin and Sales Force logging, and CSP usage.
- Actively seek out and foster group business; Maintain contact with originating agent from beginning of process through to departure of the group and post group follow up.
- Manage T&E budget and co-op marketing funds in the most cost-effective way, being mindful of established policies

- Achieves or exceeds assigned revenue, account growth, and territory performance goals through effective execution of a consultative sales strategy.
- Builds trusted, long-term partnerships with key travel agency accounts, increasing engagement, loyalty, and overall account productivity.
- Expands brand awareness and market presence by delivering impactful training, sales presentations, and strategic marketing initiatives that generate new business opportunities.
- Effectively manages territory operations by maintaining accurate Salesforce activity, leveraging account insights to drive decisions, and maximizing ROI on travel, events, and co-op marketing investments.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Experience
- 5+ years of sales and customer service experience, including 3+ years in the travel industry and territory sales.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals through consultative selling, strategic account management and by instilling urgency in others and meeting deadlines.
- Experience delivering engaging presentations, product training, and customer-facing events.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and business development skills.
Skills & Expertise
- Proficiency with Salesforce, Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint and Excel), LCD/Data projection and virtual presentation/webinar platforms.
- Ability to utilize web tools and in-house technical resources, adapt to innovative technology, learn innovative programs quickly, and use computers to improve productivity
- Experience using a consultative sales approach.
- Excellent communication, presentation, planning, and organizational skills; must be able to deliver effective product/destination trainings, engage as a credible trainer, and represent the company professionally at internal and external events.
- Interpersonal savvy skills and ability to use good listening skills, be sensitive to customers, adjust quickly to different personal styles, and stay open to other viewpoints.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, customer-focused, and driven to achieve results.

Travel & Location Requirements
- Must reside in Southern California (preferably between Los Angeles and San Diego).
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory (approximately 40–50%), including occasional evenings, weekends, and international travel.
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and required automobile insurance for business travel.
- Ability to obtain a corporate credit card or provide a personal credit card with sufficient available credit for business travel expenses.
