POSITION SUMMARY: 


The CDL Driver is responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle on a dedicated daily out-of-state route to NC or GA. This role ensures timely, accurate, and damage-free transportation of materials while maintaining full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety standards.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle between company locations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and company policy.
  • Transport materials safely, securely, and without damage.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD), trip records, and required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
  • Safely load, secure, and unload cargo when required.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and facility teams regarding delays, issues, or safety concerns.
  • Report vehicle maintenance needs promptly and follow company maintenance procedures.
  • Follow all company safety standards, PPE requirements, and defensive driving practices.
  • Maintain professional conduct and represent the company in a safe and responsible manner.

EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Valid CDL Class A with acceptable driving record.
  • Current DOT Medical Card.
  • Minimum three (3) years commercial driving experience.
  • Ability to meet FMCSA/DOT regulations and drug & alcohol testing requirements.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inter-facility transport.
  • Familiarity with ELD systems and electronic trip reporting.
  • Experience operating tractor-trailer.
  • Strong safety mindset and attention to detail.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work overnight schedule consistently.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position requires long periods of sitting while driving.
  • Ability to enter/exit truck cab, secure loads, and perform inspections.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
