We offer both Spanish and Mandarin immersion programs for students in grades preschool through fifth grade.
Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
- Plan and deliver engaging Physical Education instruction across grade levels, aligned with the IB framework (PYP/MYP as applicable), emphasizing inquiry, skill development, and lifelong wellness.
- Design assessments that reflect IB best practices, supporting student reflection, goal setting, and growth in physical literacy.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs, abilities, and learning styles of all students.
Student Development & Wellbeing
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that builds confidence, collaboration, and resilience through physical activity.
- Promote healthy habits, movement, and social-emotional development as integral components of student learning.
- Work closely with teaching teams and student support staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and support for all learners.
Program Collaboration & School Integration
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to integrate physical education into broader units of inquiry where appropriate.
- Support school-wide initiatives, performances, assemblies, and community events (e.g., AMP events), contributing to a cohesive student experience.
- Take a leadership role in planning and executing key events such as Field Day and other community-building activities.
Operations & School Life
- Participate actively in school-wide responsibilities, including arrival, dismissal, lunch duty, and supervision.
- Provide classroom coverage or substitute support as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork on an as needed basis.
Professional Responsibilities
- Engage in ongoing professional development, particularly in IB pedagogy, physical education best practices, and student wellness.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with families regarding student progress and program expectations.
- Contribute positively to faculty culture, bringing energy, collaboration, and a student-centered mindset to the community.
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or related field.
- Several years of experience in athletic administration, coaching, or related field.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
- Commitment to promoting the well-being and success of student-athletes.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and move equipment, as needed.
- Ability to attend and supervise outdoor athletic events in various weather conditions.
Working Conditions:
- Some evening and weekend work required.
