Description
The VP of Finance will report to the Chief Financial Officer and is a senior executive who will be responsible for overseeing and directing Texas Pride's finances, developing projections and protecting the Company from financial risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of the monthly and annual financial statements.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Company's financial statements and internal reporting.
- Hire, oversee and develop the financial accounting staff.
- Oversee the year-end audit process and ensure a timely, efficient outcome
- Develop, implement and maintain a strong internal control environment to ensure the integrity of transactions and safeguard company assets
- Develop and maintain processes to track, monitor and report on financial and non-financial Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
- Collaborate with C-Suite and senior management to support operational and strategic activities.
- Work with the CFO on acquisitions, mergers asset purchases and joint ventures.
- Participate in setting goals for the company and developing and modeling an operating budget.
- Monitoring the company's performance against the operating budget and established KPIs.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly board presentations.
- Remain up to date on relevant regulations and ensure financial reporting compliance.
- Work with the company's tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely filings.
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team including controllers, accountants, and analysts.
- Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and ethical financial management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial and accounting leadership or a related field.
- Deep understanding of waste management industry economics, regulations, and operational models.
- Deep understanding of sound accounting practices.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with senior management, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Experience managing a team of financial professionals.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial modeling tools.
