PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The Vice President of Finance serves as the senior finance leader responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of Holbrook Life Management. This role partners closely with the CFO to ensure the organization maintains exceptional financial discipline while supporting strategic growth initiatives.
The VP of Finance oversees accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, internal controls, financial systems, and operational finance. This individual is expected to be both a strategic business partner and a hands-on leader capable of developing the finance organization while providing accurate, timely financial information that supports executive decision-making.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting knowledge with operational finance expertise and has experience supporting complex, multi-entity organizations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
- Lead the day-to-day finance and accounting functions of the organization.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Develop scalable financial processes to support continued organizational growth.
- Partner with executive leadership to improve financial performance across the organization.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead annual budgeting process.
- Develop rolling forecasts.
- Produce executive dashboards and KPI reporting.
- Analyze operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Perform profitability analyses by community, service line, and business unit.
- Support pricing and rate strategy through financial modeling.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Oversee preparation of consolidated financial statements.
- Maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
- Coordinate annual audits and tax engagements.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and financial integrity.
Treasury & Cash Management
- Manage organizational cash flow forecasting.
- Monitor liquidity across multiple entities.
- Oversee banking relationships.
- Review financing requirements and capital needs.
- Optimize working capital management.
Operational Finance
Partner with operational leaders to improve financial performance by:
- Occupancy analysis
- Labor management
- Margin improvement
- Revenue optimization
- Expense management
- Capital planning
Serve as a financial advisor to General Managers and corporate department leaders.
Development & Investment Support
Support the CFO by:
- Building financial models
- Assisting with acquisitions and dispositions
- Supporting development projects

- Preparing lender reporting
- Supporting investor reporting
- Assisting with due diligence
Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Optimize ERP and financial systems.
- Improve reporting automation.
- Develop scalable finance processes.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology and AI.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor accounting and finance staff.
- Develop future finance leaders.

Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with financial policies.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Multi-entity financial reporting experience
- Strong GAAP knowledge
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting
- Experience leading audits

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS
- Primarily works in an office setting; frequently sits and works at a computer for extended periods.
- Requires near-vision acuity and manual dexterity sufficient for computer, keyboard, and mobile-device use.
- Frequently communicates by telephone, video conference, and in person with associates, vendors, auditors, and banking partners.
- Occasionally lifts and/or moves files, records, and office materials up to 20 lbs.
- Travels periodically among Holbrook’s communities and corporate offices; a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
- Works a flexible schedule that may include extended hours during month-end and year-end close, budget season, and audit periods.
