The Role

The Senior Manager, Specialty Services is responsible for providing operational leadership across multiple clinical service lines throughout Panorama Eye Care's Colorado and Wyoming markets. This role partners closely with physicians, practice leadership, and cross-functional departments to drive operational excellence, standardize workflows, improve patient access, and support strategic growth initiatives. This position has direct operational ownership of the LASIK, Research, and Training departments while serving as the operational leader for retina service line initiatives related to clinical efficiency and pharmaceutical operations. The Senior Manager reports to the Director of Operations and serves as a trusted operational partner to physicians, practice managers, and corporate leadership. 


Essential Responsibilities:


Clinical Operations Leadership

  • Lead operational initiatives across assigned service lines throughout Panorama Eye Care. 
  • Develop and implement standardized workflows, policies, and best practices. 
  • Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, patient experience, and financial performance. 
  • Partner with physician leaders to support strategic priorities and operational improvements. 
  • Lead change management initiatives and ensure successful implementation across multiple locations. 
  • Establish accountability through data-driven performance management and operational metrics. 

LASIK Operations

  • Provide operational leadership for the LASIK program across the organization. 
  • Develop growth strategies to increase procedure volume. 
  • Standardize patient workflows and operational processes. 
  • Monitor key performance indicators including conversion rates, scheduling efficiency, patient satisfaction, and financial performance. 
  • Partner with physicians and marketing to support continued program growth. 

Research Operations 

  • Provide operational oversight for the Research Department. 
  • Support clinical research growth and operational efficiency. 
  • Ensure research workflows align with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. 
  • Partner with physicians and research staff to expand participation and improve performance. 

Training & Development

  • Provide leadership for the organizational training department. 
  • Oversee onboarding, clinical education, and ongoing training initiatives. 
  • Develop standardized education programs across all Panorama locations. 
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify training needs and improve staff competency. 
  • Monitor training effectiveness and continuously improve educational programs. 

Retina Clinical Operations

  • Serve as the operational resource for retina services across Panorama. 
  • Partner with Procurement regarding retina pharmaceuticals, inventory strategies, and operational planning. 
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinic leadership to improve clinical workflows and patient throughput. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scheduling, patient flow, and overall operational performance. 
  • Support implementation of retina-related operational initiatives. 
  • This role does not provide direct supervision of retina clinic staff. 

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Build strong partnerships with physicians, practice managers, procurement, revenue cycle, marketing, finance, compliance, and executive leadership. 
  • Facilitate communication between clinical and operational teams. 
  • Lead multidisciplinary projects supporting organizational priorities. 
  • Support acquisitions, integrations, and operational initiatives as assigned. 

Performance & Accountability

  • Establish measurable goals and monitor departmental performance. 
  • Utilize operational and financial data to identify trends and opportunities. 
  • Develop action plans to improve outcomes and ensure accountability. 
  • Present operational updates and recommendations to leadership. 
Requirements

Who You Are 


Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field preferred. 
  • Equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible healthcare operations experience will be considered. 


Performance/Skills Requirements:

  • Five or more years of healthcare operations leadership experience. 
  • Experience leading multi-site healthcare operations preferred. 
  • Ophthalmology or ambulatory specialty practice experience strongly preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and operational improvement projects. 
  • Experience partnering with physicians and executive leadership. 
  • Experience utilizing operational metrics to drive performance improvements. 

Additional Job Details:

  • This is a full-time position. 
  • Regular travel throughout Colorado and Wyoming. 
  • Ability to travel between Panorama locations as business needs require. 
  • Compensation for this role will be an annual salary of $110,000-$120,000 depending on experience/certification.
