Location: Pierceton Woods Academy and Spencer Home (PWASH)
Supervises: Education Manager and Special Education Teachers

General Statement of Responsibility
Responsible for oversight of all administrative duties, secretarial duties, programs, activities, facilities, staff and resources for school and education related responsibilities at Pierceton Woods Academy.
This position provides supervisory oversight of the positions noted above. Supervisor oversight includes:
- Onboarding: Provide training and modeling for Education Manager and Special Education Teachers.
- Employee Development: Ensure all direct reports meet training guidelines, and continue to develop them professionally with appropriate training opportunities and experiences.
- Employee Retention: Ensure direct reports are utilizing time off to avoid burnout; seek to understand development goals of direct reports to advocate for their professional development.
- Performance Evaluation: Complete collaborative evaluations for all direct reports on a regular basis
Major Responsibilities / Activities –
- Coordinate report cards, progress reports, and grade transcripts and pass this information on to the appropriate places.
- Build an educational history for each resident that includes: school records from previous school, ISTEP information, IEP’s, health records, and withdrawal grades. These records also need to be kept at Pierceton Woods Academy and sent to their new school when they leave our program.
- Communicate with the Department of Education and keep reports and files up to date.
- Hire licensed teachers in the classrooms in accordance with PWASH’s hiring policies and procedures. Keep the school fully staffed.
- Evaluate teacher’s performance at 90 days and annually with PWASH’s guidelines and job descriptions.
- Oversee the ongoing expectations to maintain School Accreditation
- Coordinate staff meetings to encourage spiritual growth, discuss problems and ideas, and refresh on trainings.
- Oversee all curriculum, class schedules, and school calendar.
- Coordinate school intake process.
- Coordinate monthly fire drills and maintain appropriate records.
- Hold staff accountable in ensuring that all facilities are maintained in a safe and clean manner.
- Fill in for any position that is out for the day.
- Challenge all staff to develop and grow professionally and spiritually.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills required to successfully implement the school’s objectives.
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of PWASH.
- Offer insight and input to strengthen PWASH’s performance and quality of services and to improve customer satisfaction.
- Comply with required in-service / continuing education hours as outlined in policy manual. Attain/maintain CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Execute job responsibilities consistent with PWA & Spencer Home, Inc.’s (PWASH) Tenets of Culture, mission, vision, and beliefs, while adhering to all company policies and procedures.

Travel
Travel is not a regular part of this position; however, it may be necessary at times for trainings, meetings, residents’ needs, and other activities.
Physical and Visual Acuity Requirements
The physical requirement of this position is defined as Sedentary Work: Exerting up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
The visual acuity requirements needed to perform this position include having close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; and reading.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Indiana’s teaching license
- At least 21 years old
- Pass all background checks
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in youth residential settings
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in education, social work, counseling, or a job-related field
