Position Summary
Highly entrepreneurial, experienced in sales and partnership, the Director of Strategic Partnerships leads enterprise sales and strategic partnership efforts that expand the organization's mission while generating sustainable, earned revenue streams.
Unlike traditional nonprofit fundraising positions, this role functions as a consultative enterprise sales leader responsible for identifying, developing, negotiating and closing multi-year strategic partnerships with corporations, financial institutions, technology companies, philanthropies, associations, government entities, and national nonprofit organizations.
The Director of Strategic Partnerships serves as one of the organization's primary revenue generators, responsible for selling Prosperity Now's growing suite of products, services and enterprise solutions, including:
- Change Machine financial coaching platform
- GoBotli Community Capital Operating System
- Prosperity Shield fraud and scam prevention tool
- Collective Prosperity Council partnerships
- Corporate Membership Program
- Emerging strategic initiatives and innovation projects
This individual must be comfortable creating opportunities where none currently exist, designing customized partnership models, developing executive-level pitch materials, negotiating complex agreements, and consistently closing significant revenue opportunities.
Success is measured by revenue generated, partnerships executed, and long-term strategic value created for the organization.

The Director manages a cross-functional team of exempt and non-exempt staff, ensuring performance excellence and accountability in all aspects of business development.
The Director of Strategic Partnerships works closely Chief Programs Officer (CPO), Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer (CSIO), and other senior leaders to align sales and partnership opportunities with organizational strategy and program priorities.
Enterprise Sales
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan that consistently achieves annual earned revenue targets.
- Identify prospective enterprise clients across corporate, nonprofit, financial services, government, association and philanthropic sectors.
- Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline leveraging Salesforce platform and established sales methodologies.
- Forecast revenue and pipeline performance with a high degree of accuracy.
- Lead the complete enterprise sales lifecycle including:
- Prospecting
- Qualification
- Discovery
- Solution development
- Proposal development
- Executive presentations
- Negotiation
- Contract execution
- Transition to implementation
Strategic Partnerships
- Develop complex multi-year partnerships aligned with Prosperity Now's mission and strategic priorities.
- Represent Prosperity Now in executive meetings with Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, foundations and national organizations.
- Design customized partnership structures that may include:
- Technology implementation
- Licensing
- Sponsorship
- Capacity building

Product & Solution Sales
- Work closely with product and program teams to ensure solution designs meet client needs.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and bundled enterprise engagements.

- Collective Prosperity Council
- Future technology products and consulting offerings
Opportunity Development
- Translate loosely defined ideas into scalable partnership opportunities.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and recommend new revenue-generating products and partnership models.
- Develop executive-quality pitch decks, business cases, partnership concepts, financial models, value propositions, executive briefing materials
Executive Relationship Management
- Represent Prosperity Now at conferences, executive meetings and industry events.
- Cultivate long-term executive relationships with C-suite executives, corporate foundations, national nonprofits, financial institutions, technology firms, industry associations, government leaders
Internal Leadership
- Support organizational revenue forecasting.
- Maintain accurate Salesforce opportunity data.
- Provide quarterly pipeline reports and sales forecasts.
- Partner closely with CSIO and colleagues in business development, programs, public affairs & marketing, finance, and operations in the development and creation of proposals.
Organizational Culture & Internal Communications
- Model clear, collaborative and timely communication in a remote, cross-functional environment with colleagues, partners, vendors, and funders; represent Prosperity Now’s values in all interactions.
- Lead by example working Eastern Time core hours while coordinating across time zones; plan coverage for peak periods, travel, and convenings.
- Model a high-accountability culture— set performance benchmarks, monitor outcomes, foster collaborative, solutions oriented, fast-paced, high-performance team culture.
- Uphold organizational values and professional conduct standards; address behavior or performance issues promptly and constructively.
- Coach and develop staff through regular 1:1s, goal setting, growth plans, and performance reviews; recognize strong contributions.
- Take part in 1:1s, goal setting, and feedback cycles; complete required training and apply feedback.
- For teams with non-exempt employees: ensure daily time entry, pre-approval of overtime, accurate grant/project coding, and on-time timesheet approvals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, business development, management consulting, SaaS sales, financial services, or comparable sales conversion related experience.
- Documented record of successfully closing complex six- and seven-figure partnerships.
- Experience selling executive-level solutions.
- Experience negotiating sophisticated partnership agreements.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Exceptional presentation and executive communication skills.
- Experience preparing executive pitch decks.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with C-suite executives.
- Strong consultative selling skills.
- Ability to manage multiple large opportunities simultaneously.
- Salesforce experience preferred.
Preferred
- Experience within nonprofit, financial services, fintech, community development, or technology sectors.
- Experience selling software, SaaS platforms, consulting services, or enterprise technology.
- Experience working with Fortune 1000 organizations.
- Experience structuring public-private partnerships.
- Knowledge of financial well-being, consumer finance, workforce development, community development, or economic mobility initiatives.
Reports To: The CSIO
Supervisory Responsibility: Required
Work Environment: This job operates in a remote environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information. The employee must frequently remain stationary
Expected Travel: Staff in the local DMV area will be required to attend the monthly Staff meeting, planning meetings and retreats. Periodic travel may be required to conferences and meetings.
