About the Role 


As a Community Manager, you'll oversee the daily operations of VOA's supportive housing properties, ensuring communities are safe, compliant, and well-maintained while supporting positive resident experiences.


This is not a traditional property management role. Our residents often face barriers to housing stability, so we're looking for someone who can balance compliance and lease enforcement with professionalism, empathy, and strong problem-solving skills.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily property operations and resident relations
  • Oversee leasing, move-ins, and applicant screening
  • Ensure compliance with HUD, LIHTC, Fair Housing, and agency requirements
  • Maintain resident files, certifications, and required documentation
  • Coordinate property maintenance and unit inspections
  • Collect rent and maintain operational records
  • Address resident concerns and lease-related issues
  • Collaborate with supportive services staff to promote housing stability

Who we are looking for: 


This role is a strong fit for someone who-

  • Has 2+ years of property management experience
  • Understands affordable housing or multifamily housing operations
  • Can manage compliance while building positive resident relationships
  • Is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing competing priorities
  • Communicates effectively and handles difficult situations professionally

Preferred:

  • HUD and/or LIHTC experience
  • CAM, CPM, or similar certification
  • Supportive housing or human services experience

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to maintain auto liability insurance
  • Ability to pass background checks
  • Must be at least 21 years old
