We are seeking a high-energy, detail-driven HR Generalist to support our manufacturing facility in Walker, MI. In this dynamic role, no two days are the same. You will be a key driver in talent acquisition, employee engagement, safety, and operational excellence—all while supporting our core company goals of Zero Defects and 100% On-Time Delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)

  • Recruitment& Talent Acquisition: Drive the full non-exempt recruiting process from start to finish—update job descriptions, post ads, screen and interview candidates, represent the company at job fairs, build relationships with staffing agencies, and lead engaging new-employee orientations.
  • Attendance & Leave Management: Manage full-lifecycle employee and temporary worker attendance, including FMLA, STD, and LOA programs. Partner closely with supervisors to address concerns proactively and conduct fair, constructive write-ups.
  • Employee Engagement & Community: Bring people together! Help organize and lead company events, team-building initiatives, and community service projects.
  • Safety Champion: Serve as an active member of the Safety Committee. Lead required safety trainings, participate in incident investigations, report workers' compensation claims, and keep safety top-of-mind.
  • Metrics & Strategic Insight: Track and update key monthly HR metrics to provide actionable insights for Production Supervisors, Plant Management, and the Executive Team.
  • Benefits Administration: Serve as a trusted resource for employees by administering health insurance, voluntary benefits, 401(k), and open enrollment activities.

Requirements

 Required Experience: 

  • Minimum of 2 years of HR experience (or a suitable combination of education and experience).
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational, strategic thinking, and follow-up skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
Preferred Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Human Resources
  • HR Certification
  • OSHA safety standards and compliance.
  • HRIS platforms (Paylocity and/or Paycor strongly preferred).
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Work environment includes both an office setting and a moderate-noise manufacturing floor.
  • Safety glasses, hearing protection, and closed-toe shoes are required when on the production floor.
  • Occasional local travel may be required.
