 Position Overview  

  

Lead full-lifecycle delivery of complex, high-visibility projects with senior-level autonomy. Own scope and risk decisions with reduced day-to-day oversight, build and develop the project team, and serve as an escalation point and informal mentor for Project Manager I team members.


Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation

• Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation

• Develop detailed project plans to track progress

• Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

• Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks

• Analyze project status and, when necessary, revise the scope and schedule to ensure that project requirements can be met

• Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan

• Establish and maintain relationships with relevant client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes

• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation 

• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the successful execution of

• Ensure resource availability and allocation to meet project objectives

• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques

• Own RAID log discipline for the assigned portfolio, distinguishing risks from confirmed issues and escalate per established thresholds.


Education and Work Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in project management, preferably in IT or software development environments

• Experience with Smartsheet (tool of record) and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.


Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• Proficiency in project management tools, with a familiarity with Smartsheet and Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) preferred

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile/Scrum and/or hybrid approaches

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present project updates to leadership

• Ability to identify risks proactively and develop mitigation strategies

• Team-oriented with a collaborative and positive approach to working with others

• Strong time management and prioritization skills aligned with business needs

• Demonstrated ability to independently own complex, high-visibility portfolios with minimal day-to-day oversight

• Sound judgment to make scope and risk decisions autonomously, escalating only when necessary

• Willingness to informally mentor and guide Project Manager I team members


Typical Physical Demands:

• Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, occasional stooping, and reaching; May require lifting-up to 25 pounds; requires normal range of vision and hearing with or without accommodations.
