Position Summary

As a Senior Computational Geometry & 3D Engineer, you will play a key role in building technology that transforms CAD files into manufacturable parts. You will design and implement advanced algorithms, improve CAD processing pipelines, and develop tools that automate processes. You will work closely with other teams to continually optimize our customer experience and the manufacturing process.

What you’ll do

  • Design and implement computational geometry algorithms for CAD processing and manufacturing automation
  • Build systems that analyze, validate, repair, and optimize customer CAD models
  • Develop high-performance geometry pipelines for processing millions of customer parts
  • Improve algorithms for feature recognition, manufacturability analysis, geometry repair, and automated model preparation
  • Work closely with other teams to continually optimize our customer experience and the manufacturing process.
  • Review code and contribute to architectural decisions that support long-term platform growth
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical guidance
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to refine engineering processes
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Production, Design, and Support to deliver meaningful improvements
  • Communicate project status, progress, and roadblocks clearly and consistently to leadership and team members, proactively identifying when support or additional resources are needed to ensure timely and successful completion

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields
  • 5+ years of experience shipping high quality software
  • 3+ years of experience in a low language programming such as C, C++, or Rust
  • 3+ years of experience with real time 3D engines and or computational geometry
  • Demonstrates significant knowledge in comp geo and real time 3D concepts
  • Experience and familiarity with HTML, WASM, Java script, APIs, Python
  • Highly motivated, self starter, good communicator, and team player 
  • Experience solving challenging problems with high quality, well tested code
  • Thrive in a highly collaborative environment where everyone has something to learn
  • Experience building and maintaining high quality applications end to end
  • Strong understanding of geometric algorithms, linear algebra, and 3D mathematics
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, multithreading, and performance optimization
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant experience with Rust
  • Experience working with the Open Cascade Library or similar CAD libraries
  • Experience working with b-reps and CAD 2D formats
  • Experience with a CAD / CAM software
  • Experience working in the manufacturing industry and the basics of DFM

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Employees must establish and maintain a dedicated, safe, confidential, and ergonomic home workspace.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment for remote work.

Work Environment

  • This role is a work from home position where you would be required to travel up to two times a year to our headquarters in Reno, Nevada. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that requires consistent communication, organization, and coordination across multiple onsite and remote teams. You will also be required to travel up to two times a year to our headquarters in Reno, Nevada.

Salary Description
$140,000 - $190,000 annually
