Position Summary


Haven Services with Heart of Ohio and The Plumbing Source, is seeking an experienced Design-Build Electrical Estimator / Project Manager to lead electrical projects from concept through completion.


This position is responsible for estimating commercial and industrial electrical projects, developing design-build solutions, managing project execution, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.


The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong estimating experience, project management expertise, and the ability to collaborate with engineers, field teams, customers, and subcontractors.

Requirements


Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Preconstruction

  • Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects. 
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents. 
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and material pricing. 
  • Develop design-build electrical solutions that meet customer needs and project budgets. 
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals. 
  • Identify value engineering opportunities. 
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits. 
  • Prepare project budgets and cost analyses.


Project Management

  • Manage multiple electrical projects simultaneously from award through closeout. 
  • Develop project schedules and coordinate manpower requirements. 
  • Lead project kickoff meetings. 
  • Coordinate with customers, engineers, architects, and internal departments. 
  • Manage project budgets and forecast costs. 
  • Process change orders and maintain project documentation. 
  • Monitor project progress to ensure schedule and quality expectations are met. 
  • Conduct regular job site visits. 
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents.


Client Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers. 
  • Build long-term relationships with clients and industry partners. 
  • Attend owner meetings and project progress meetings. 
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly. 


Field Coordination

  • Work closely with field supervisors and electricians. 
  • Coordinate equipment procurement and material deliveries. 
  • Assist with labor planning and scheduling. 
  • Support field teams in resolving construction issues. 
  • Ensure proper communication between office and field personnel. 


Financial Management

  • Track project costs and profitability. 
  • Review monthly job cost reports. 
  • Approve invoices and purchase orders. 
  • Prepare billing documentation. 
  • Monitor project cash flow. 
  • Identify financial risks and implement corrective actions. 


Safety & Quality

  • Promote a strong safety culture. 
  • Ensure OSHA compliance and company safety policies are followed. 
  • Participate in project safety meetings. 
  • Maintain quality standards throughout all phases of construction. 
  • Assist in project closeout and warranty coordination. 


Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of commercial electrical estimating experience. 
  • 5+ years of electrical project management experience. 
  • Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems. 
  • Experience with design-build delivery methods. 
  • Ability  to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications. 
  • Strong budgeting and cost control experience. 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. 
  • Valid driver's license. 


Preferred

  • Electrical Journeyman or Master Electrician license. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. 
  • Experience with healthcare, education, industrial, or municipal projects. 
  • Experience with BIM coordination. 
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
