Job Summary:
The Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) Manager coordinates daily activities within the FNS department to ensure smooth operations. This position oversees all aspects of food preparation, service, and administrative duties, with special attention to customer service, safety, and compliance with applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the Food & Nutrition Services Department, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, sanitation, and customer satisfaction.
- Supervise and coordinate all food service functions including cafeteria, catering, Meals-on-Wheels, and nursing home meal services.
- Manage staffing needs, scheduling, coverage, and employee performance, while providing training, mentorship, and leadership to department staff.
- Order food, supplies, and equipment; monitor inventory, storage, and budget compliance; and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
- Maintain compliance with HACCP standards, infection control guidelines, and all applicable healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Oversee food production processes, including temperature monitoring, sanitation practices, and quality assurance measures.
- Coordinate catering services from planning through execution, ensuring appropriate staffing, equipment, and logistics.
- Collaborate with nursing home and clinical staff to support resident dietary needs, meal satisfaction, and special accommodations.
- Complete required administrative duties including financial reports, census reporting, inventory tracking, and maintenance requests.
- Promote a culture of exceptional customer service using SERVE principles and maintain a professional, safety-focused work environment.

- Associate's degree in Food Service Management, Dietetic Technician Program, or equivalent experience.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR) preferred.
- ServSafe Certification preferred.
