SUMMARY:

The Quality Engineer / Quality Management System Coordinator will support Heartland in implementing and maintaining a successful automotive Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with the requirements of IATF 16949 and other relevant international standards. An amount of time not to exceed 50% will also be devoted to supporting the QA department’s documentation requirements associated with New Model Launches.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 1-2 years automotive manufacturing experience

- IATF 16949 Internal Auditor Training / Certification

- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Self-motivated with ability to work well with others in a team environment

- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and present information to diverse groups

- MS Office Suite proficiency

- Experience writing procedures and policies

- Root Cause Analysis experience or training

- Willing to actively continue training through courses and seminars

- Experience with AIAG core tools including PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

· QMS Coordinator: the primary responsibility for this position is to organize the company’s IATF compliance program and ensure ongoing focus on maintaining our certifications.

· Act as a point-of-contact with third-party auditors during audits.

· Manage Heartland’s Internal Audit Program: schedule, coordinate, and assist in conducting internal audits; track audit nonconformities and follow up to ensure timely completion; compile and report internal audit findings for Management Review and action.

· Schedule and conduct periodic QMS Management Reviews and document the outputs.

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant customer and international standard requirements (e.g. ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AIAG Core Tools, China-CQC, and customer specific requirements). Understand and interpret external standards in relation to the work of the company. Provide education and consultation to other employees and departments about external standard requirements.

· Work with the Quality Assurance Manager to develop and revise the Quality Management System in accordance with evolving business needs.

· New Model Responsibilities: Assist with PFMEA, Control Plan, QVA/QVB, and general NexPrise document status management to support New Model Launch (max. 50%).

· Provide systems support to HA-Lafayette in the employee’s areas of responsibility (travel 10% max).

· Participate in (and lead) continuous improvement activities of various types, as opportunities arise.

· This position has the responsibility and authority to stop production or shipment in the event of nonconformity.
