About the Role

We are seeking a Metadata Integration Engineer to build and maintain the pipelines, connectors, and automation that move metadata across enterprise data and governance platforms. This role focuses on hands-on development — writing code and APIs to harvest, transform, and synchronize metadata between source systems and platforms such as Collibra and Databricks Unity Catalog — while also applying AI-assisted automation to accelerate metadata documentation, classification, and glossary generation. The ideal candidate is a strong Python/SQL developer who is comfortable working across integration, data governance, and emerging AI tooling in an Agile delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain metadata ingestion pipelines, connectors, and automation using Python, SQL, and REST APIs
  • Integrate enterprise metadata platforms such as Collibra, Databricks Unity Catalog, or similar technologies with upstream and downstream data systems
  • Build and support metadata harvesting, schema discovery, and lineage capture across enterprise data sources
  • Design and implement AI-assisted automation for metadata extraction, documentation, classification, and business glossary generation using LLMs or similar technologies
  • Apply prompt engineering techniques to tune AI-generated outputs, and build human-review checkpoints to validate AI-generated content before publication
  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures, data quality issues, and integration errors across metadata workflows
  • Collaborate with data architects, governance leads, and engineers to translate metadata management requirements into working integrations
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives) and deliver work incrementally as part of a cross-functional team
  • Document integration logic, pipeline design, and automation workflows to support maintainability and audit needs
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience developing enterprise data or metadata integration solutions
  • Experience developing metadata ingestion pipelines, APIs, connectors, and automation using Python, SQL, and REST APIs
  • Experience integrating enterprise metadata platforms such as Collibra, Databricks Unity Catalog, or similar technologies
  • Knowledge of metadata harvesting, lineage, schema discovery, and enterprise metadata management concepts
  • Experience implementing AI-assisted automation for metadata extraction, documentation, classification, or business glossary generation using LLMs or similar technologies
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering, AI APIs, and human review processes for AI-generated content
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with experience working in Agile delivery teams
  • This position requires the employee to be a US Citizen and may require the ability to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD, DHA, VA, or other federal agencies in secure, regulated environments
