We are currently seeking a part time Shop Technician to join our team!   


What are your responsibilities?

The Shop Technician supports daily shop operations by assisting with parts handling, packaging, shipping preparation, and inventory movement. This role helps ensure materials are safely moved, correctly inventoried, properly packed, and shipped on time. This position will work on average less than 30 hours per week.  

What will you do?

  

Move and Inventory Parts

  • Help move parts and materials using appropriate tools and safe handling practices
  • Assist with inventory organization and tracking by moving items into/out of storage areas
  • Load/unload parts in assigned locations and ensure boxes are labeled clearly

Prepare Parts for Shipping

  • Build boxes for shipping as needed based on part size, weight, and shipping requirements
  • Sandblast and prepare parts for shipping readiness (as assigned)
  • Stage parts and confirm packaging materials are available and properly used

Packing and Shipping Support

  • Pack parts into shipping containers (boxes/pallets/crates) using proper protective materials
  • Ensure shipments are prepared correctly for transit and meet internal shipping standards
  • Help unload or ship parts when others are on assigned peel/shift duty (as directed)

Warehouse/Shop Support

  • Assist with organizing parts by type, job order, or customer requirements 
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all shop safety procedures 
  • Report damaged items, incorrect parts, or inventory discrepancies to the supervisor
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements

What do you need to qualify for this role?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
  • 5+ years’ experience of working in a shipping & receiving environment with customs knowledge.
  • Ability to read and understand the English language for the purpose of comparing and reading product descriptions names and shelf labels.
  • Have a good overall understanding of warehouse workflow and can work with minimal guidance.
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Strong organizational skills; detail oriented.
  • Ability to use good judgment to carry out detailed instructions.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel. 
  • Ability to operate power equipment at elevated levels (20’-40’) such as Forklift, reach trucks, picker machines etc.
  • Working knowledge of FedEx, UPS, DHL shipping programs.
  • Working knowledge of international shipping documents (Shipper’s Letter of Instruction, Electronic Export Information, Certificate of Origin, and others as required.)
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain appropriate attendance standards.
