Description
This position is responsible for performing janitorial duties for the buildings and facilities on the Schell’s Brewery grounds. Providing quality customer service is essential at all times. Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, proper cleaning techniques is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but are not limited to:
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping all floors and stairs
- Clean and sanitize all bathrooms, including all toilets, urinals, sinks, stall walls, etc.
- Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, stove, refrigerators, and coffee pots in all break rooms or visitor center rooms.
- Restock supplies in all bathrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
- Clean and polish the water fountain and surrounding area.
- Empty all trash cans, replace liners, and clean receptacles as necessary.
- Recycle all items when appropriate.
- Dust and clean all office desks and furniture as much as possible.
- Clean and “debug” all windowsills, windows, and light fixtures.
- Maintain janitor areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
- Maintain janitorial equipment.
- Proper labeling, dilution, and use of all chemicals.
- Wearing proper personal protection equipment when appropriate.
- Order sufficient cleaning supplies when necessary
- Possibly some light maintenance
- Other routine maintenance duties as assigned
- May require more hours for a “deeper” clean before special events and meetings
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Good Communication and interpersonal skills
- Good customer/visitor service skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently and also to support a group effort
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willing to learn
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to get to work on assigned days
- Must be able to keep pace with a rigorous cleaning schedule
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Ability to climb steps, ladders, sit, stoop, bend, kneel, twist and reach above head
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The cleaning duties will be in several locations including but not limited to:
- Visitor Center public areas such as the entrance, stairway, hallways, restrooms
- Also includes cleaning the Museum in the off-season, including the restroom daily and cleaning the office
- Cleaning the back stock room area where the print shop is located.
- Kitchen off the Tap Room
- Tap Room – which includes floors, tables, sinks, windowsills, and garbage in containers on the patio area in the back
Work Schedule:
Sunday - 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Monday - 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM
Tuesday - 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM
Wednesday - 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM
Thursday - OFF
Friday - 5:00 PM- 11:00 PM
Saturday - OFF
