The Opportunity
The Installation Quality Manager plays a critical role in the growth of our installations department, working hands-on to manage flooring and tile projects from pre-walk to completion. If you have a builder or construction background, deep knowledge of the flooring installation process (carpet, LVP, hardwood, and tile — floors and walls), and you know your way around an in-home or job-site measurement, this role gives you real ownership: overseeing ongoing jobs, open cases, pre-walks and post-walks, and the installer relationships that make great outcomes possible.
This is a role for a problem-solver who leads with professionalism and genuinely enjoys developing people — someone installers want to work with, and want to work for.
What You'll Do
- Perform scheduled pre-walks and pre-construction assessments on tile, hardwood, and carpet projects — confirming design layout, materials, and job readiness, and adjusting labor and quote details as needed to keep the customer’s experience on track.
- Provide daily direction and hands-on problem-solving for installers across all active jobs, using work orders, drawings, and internal systems to keep projects moving.
- Coordinate additional materials, change orders, and layout adjustments needed to complete jobs — including opening and managing cases with urgency and strong conflict-management skills.
- Build and nurture relationships with installers, field supervisors, and customers that inspire confidence in your ability to manage projects of any size.
- Partner with the scheduling department on reschedules, job busts, and installer availability and forecasting.
- Recruit and onboard new installers, with an eye toward long-term growth and career development within PF&TCO.
- Manage work orders within payroll deadlines and resolve payroll or reimbursement disputes with accounting.
- Manage or escalate personnel conflicts involving installers, field supervisors, or customers.
- Stay on top of all CRM communication — email, text, voicemail, and calls — in a timely, professional manner.
- Complete accurate floor measurements for installation projects as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
