Student Affairs Coordinator 


South College is seeking a dedicated Student Affairs Coordinator to join our team. This on-ground position is integral to enhance the student experience by coordinating academic support services, campus communications, student advocacy, community engagement, and collaboration with faculty and staff. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Create and foster community engagement and campus connections by coordinating student activities, clubs, honor societies and organizations. Coordinates the Student Advisory Committee (SAC) meetings and membership.
  • Provide oversight of student publications and communication, which includes the development and distribution of the quarterly campus newsletter.
  • Coordinate and evaluate academic support activities and programs (tutoring, seminars, and workshops).
  • Ensure institutional compliance with Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and with other federal and state regulations concerning students with disabilities. 
  • Manages the student conduct process and coordinate the Appeals Committee.
  • Maintain records of Honor Code violations
  • Participate in service activities that contribute to community, professional, and institutional advancement.
  • Assist all graduates in securing in-field/related field employment in order to meet the institutional placement benchmark.
  • Coordinate job placements with prospective employers, determine job descriptions, and recommend graduates for interviews. Follow up on graduate placement.
  • Meet with students to provide resources and assistance with mock interviewing, resume and cover letter writing assistance, and job search strategies.
Requirements

Education: 

  • Earned bachelor's degree required (Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field preferred)
  • Master's degree preferred 

Experience

  • Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and external partners to support student success 
  • Experience serving on or coordinating committees
  • Strong communication skills including experience with newsletters, student communications, and presentations 
  • Experience with advising or supporting students through academic, behavioral, or personal challenges preferred
  • 3-5 years previous work in a post-secondary setting preferred
