Description

As an Implementation Project Lead, you will be integral in the planning and execution of national contacts. During an implementation period, an Implementation Project Lead will set up contracted services, provide excellent customer service, and identify/implement landfill diversion, cost savings, and efficiency projects at a group of contracted new client facilities. You will also support the planning of an implementation during the contract finalization period and manage Northstar resources to maximize productivity. Additionally, you will support growth opportunities as needed, balanced with implementation priorities. 


The primary responsibility of the Implementation Project Lead position is to assist with creating an efficient transition plan and improve services for a group of national client contract locations during the implementation period. Northstar Recycling Implementation Project Leads serve as the main point of contacts to a set group of new client sites and support internal organization of an implementation by working closely with and reporting to the Implementation Director of Project Management. 


Major Responsibilities:

  • Outline timing and resources needed to meet established service go live date(s) 
  • Achieve established profitability targets. 
  • Determine proper structure for setting up new clients and outlets in Northstar system, including any ongoing reporting. 
  • Track and meet personal and, where applicable, team progress towards service go live date(s). 
  • Create and present, internally and externally, on expectations and updates before, during, and after implementation period. 
  • Baseline data supplied by new clients and analyze opportunities to maximize client savings and Northstar GP. 
  • Identify and implement creative solutions for waste and recycling programs, projects include cost-savings and diversion opportunities 
  • Establish professional relationships with external site contacts based on trust and respect during implementation period; share insights around external site contacts when transitioning work to ongoing client services team. 
  • Serve as a point of escalation for urgent service and billing issues from trial loads and throughout implementation period. 
  • Analyze historic data to offer recommendations on waste program improvements that can be implemented immediately or in the future by the client services team. 
  • Establish pricing for new services and assist with outlet negotiations during implementation period. 
  • Propose and execute materials, trainings and equipment for new and existing services. 
  • Establish sorting procedures and collection processes for new services. 
  • Amass well rounded knowledge of how Northstar works interdepartmentally to meet client and company objectives. 
  • A portion of this role’s responsibilities will be to manage a group of Northstar Recycling clients and prospective clients with growth opportunity: 
  • Provide excellent customer service, grow Northstar’s business footprint, and identify/implement landfill diversion, cost savings, and efficiency projects. 
  • Maximize profits and retention rates. 
  • Identify and implement creative solutions for waste and recycling programs; projects include cost-savings and diversion opportunities. 
  • Conduct on-site and phone waste audits with manufacturing sites. 
  • Manage your own workload and identify your own projects to hit Northstar performance objectives. 
  • Analyze historic data to offer recommendations on waste program improvements. 
  • Analysis to optimize service and surpass client expectations. 
  • Pricing materials, training, and equipment. 
  • Sorting procedures and Collection processes. 
Requirements
  • Must be in a CD, CS, or AM role successfully for 18 months or have bachelor’s degree and 2 years of project management experience in project management and in the Sustainability/Waste & Recycling industry. 
  • During implementations, travel will be required up to 50% of the time. 
  • Highly experienced and skilled in Microsoft Suite, particularly in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must have experience creating presentations, using Excel formulas and pivot tables, and writing proposals and work plans. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of an organization. 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous projects with various internal and external teams. 
  • Excellent time management skills. 
  • Able to propose and implement new approaches, methods, or technologies.

This position is available as a remote position or hybrid (remote/in-person) in our office location in East Longmeadow, MA.
