Vice President Development and Donor Relations – Position Summary

Schedule: Full Time, schedule may include evenings, weekends, and community events

Pay: $90,000 - $120,000 annually

Location: Binghamton, NY

What You’ll Do

As Vice President of Development and Donor Relations, you will lead ACHIEVE's fundraising and donor engagement efforts while building strategic relationships that support the agency's mission and long-term growth. This role serves as a key member of the leadership team responsible for securing financial support, increasing community awareness, and advancing philanthropy across the organization.

  • Lead and coordinate major fundraising initiatives that support agency growth, program expansion, and enhancement. 
  • Develop and implement short-term and long-range development strategies, including major gifts, planned giving, and donor stewardship programs. 
  • Research grant opportunities and secure foundation and corporate support for agency projects and programs. 
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, foundations, businesses, and community partners. 
  • Develop donor engagement strategies, including prospect identification, solicitation, recognition, and stewardship activities. 
  • Provide oversight for special events, annual giving campaigns, advocacy initiatives, and membership campaigns. 
  • Supervise and support Development Department staff, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and professional development. 
  • Collaborate with leadership to prepare and monitor departmental budgets and ensure responsible resource management. 
  • Participate in community outreach and public relations activities to promote ACHIEVE's mission and services. 
  • Oversee marketing and communication initiatives that enhance community awareness and donor engagement. 
  • Identify opportunities for new program development and strategic partnerships. 
  • Maintain knowledge of current fundraising trends, regulations, and best practices within the nonprofit sector. 
  • Prepare and present reports regarding fundraising performance, donor engagement, and departmental activities. 
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, procedures, and all applicable state and federal regulations. 
  • Attend and participate in agency meetings, training programs, community events, and leadership initiatives as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in fundraising, grantsmanship, donor relations, development, or a related field.
  • OR a combination of education and experience that, in the opinion of the reviewing agency, exceeds the above standards.
  • Valid driver's license is acceptable to the agency's insurance carrier.
