SHNE Technologies is seeking a Research and Development Test Engineer (R&D Test Engineer) to support Research Engineers with inventing, developing, and refining the technology inherent to SHINE’s business and products. Additionally, the R&D Test Engineer will be responsible for assembling and troubleshooting test systems, running experiments, and collecting data.
The base salary range for this position is $79,000 - $85,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design and implement experiments to further understanding of essential technologies for SHINE’s core products.
- Assemble, modify, and troubleshoot experimental apparatuses.
- Perform experiments, analyze data, and report results. Create detailed and comprehensive written reports of work performed and results found.
- Evaluate prototype components and products for SHINE. Assist the product engineering teams in turning prototype designs into products.
- Troubleshoot existing products and prototypes.
- Assist in the design of new components.
- Maintain test area environment.
- BS in physical science or engineering field, or equivalent experience and education.
- Experience with electrical systems and basic electrical tools including DMM, oscilloscope and soldering.
- Extensive experience with machine building, hand tools, and standard mechanical practices.
- Ability to carefully perform experiments and record results.
- Experience troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical or scientific systems.
- Experience with new product development, prototyping, and R&D.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with high-voltage electrical systems.
- Experience with gas/fluid handling and vacuum systems.
- Machining and welding experience.
- Experience with plasma sources and ion beams.
- Knowledge of CAD software and standard drawing practices.
- Experience with finite element modeling software including mechanics, electrostatics, and magnetostatics.
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
