Position Summary

MDC Healthcare is seeking experienced, dependable, and self-motivated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team as Independent Contractors (1099). Contractors provide skilled nursing services to members in their homes on an as-needed basis while maintaining the highest standards of clinical care, professionalism, and regulatory compliance.

This position is ideal for nurses seeking scheduling flexibility while providing quality home-based care. Independent Contractors are responsible for managing their assigned visits, maintaining timely documentation, and meeting all contractual obligations.

This position is that of an independent contractor and is not an employee position. Contractors are responsible for managing their own taxes, insurance, licensure, and business-related expenses.   
 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Perform nursing assessments, admissions, reassessments, supervisory visits, and discharge visits as assigned.

· Complete nursing visits according to physician orders, Medicaid waiver requirements, and MDC Healthcare standards.

· Develop and update nursing care plans when applicable.

· Complete supervisory visits for caregivers.

· Perform comprehensive patient assessments.

· Identify and report significant changes in patient condition.

· Communicate promptly with the Director of Nursing regarding clinical concerns.

  

· Educate members and caregivers on medications, disease management, safety, and infection prevention.

· Complete documentation accurately and within required deadlines.

· Utilize Home Care BOSS for documentation and visit completion.

· Maintain HIPAA compliance and safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI).

· Attend mandatory contractor orientation and required training as assigned.

· Maintain professional communication with members, physicians, case managers, caregivers, and MDC Healthcare staff.

Contractors are responsible for completing all required documentation, including but not limited to:

· Nursing Admissions

· Nursing Assessments

· Supervisory Visits

· Semi-Annual Visits

· Annual Evaluations

· Reassessments

· Q62 Documentation (when applicable)

· Nursing Care Plans

· Physician Orders

· Medication Reviews

· Hospital Follow-Up Documentation

· Discharge Documentation

· Incident Reports

Documentation must be completed accurately and submitted within MDC Healthcare’s

required timeframes.   
 

Qualifications

Required

· Active Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

   

· Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience

· Current BLS Certification

· Valid Georgia driver’s license

· Reliable transportation

· Current automobile insurance

· Ability to pass a background screening

· Strong clinical assessment skills

· Excellent communication and documentation skills

· Ability to work independently

Preferred

· Home health experience

· Medicaid Waiver experience (CCSP, SOURCE, ICWP)

· Home Care BOSS experience

· Home care supervisory experience   
 

Independent Contractor Requirements

As a 1099 Independent Contractor, you must:

· Maintain an active RN license throughout the contract period.

· Maintain professional liability insurance (if required).

· Maintain current BLS certification.

· Provide your own transportation.

· Maintain current automobile insurance.

· Supply your own smartphone, internet access, and basic office equipment needed to complete documentation.

· Maintain all required professional certifications.   
 

Professional Expectations

Contractors are expected to:

· Accept only assignments they are available to complete.

· Arrive on time for scheduled visits.

· Notify scheduling immediately if unable to complete an assigned visit.

   

· Maintain a professional appearance.

· Wear MDC Healthcare identification while providing services.

· Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and compassion.

· Respond promptly to work-related communications during contracted assignments.

· Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.   
 

Compensation

· Competitive per-visit compensation

· Mileage reimbursement (when applicable under contract)

· Flexible scheduling

Independent Contractor Status

This position is classified as an Independent Contractor (1099) and does not constitute employment with MDC Healthcare.

Independent Contractors:

· Are not eligible for employee benefits, including health insurance, paid time off

(PTO), holiday pay, unemployment benefits, or workers’ compensation through MDC

Healthcare.

· Are responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes.

· Are responsible for maintaining all required licenses, certifications, and insurance.

· May accept or decline assignments based on their availability; however, once an assignment is accepted, timely completion is expected unless otherwise approved by management.

· Perform services independently while complying with all applicable federal and state laws, professional nursing standards, and MDC Healthcare contractual requirements.
