Job Summary:
Provide high standards of direct care supervision and support, safety, protection, and care of children who have experienced abuse and neglect individually and in group core services. Engage, and develop rapport with client from various backgrounds, teach and facilitate recreational activities. Model life skills. Demonstrate consistency and behavioral limits through relationship-based interventions. Communicate effectively to solve problems in a collaborative manner. Administer and document behavior management plans, use of verbal and physical intervention with volatile clients. Transport clients.
Swing Shift and Weekend Availability Required.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

· Maintain confidentiality in compliance with Health and Human Services, Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) and meet requirements of all other county and State Agencies
· Provide adequate supervision to ensure safety; may include the need to run after or walk for long distances in pursuit to maintain safety of client
· Use verbal interventions and physical techniques as trained to maintain safety of client in situations that clients present as escalated or assaultive
· Responsible for various written, typed and verbal communication documentation and reports
· Demonstrate professional boundaries, through appropriate behavior, conversations, language, humor, tone of voice, body language, with a positive attitude and role model for client
· Use “teachable moments” or windows of opportunities to teach life skills, self-awareness concepts, such as housing responsibilities, banking, shopping, bill payment, meal preparation, hygiene and appearance
· Prepare meals, serve, document meals and teach according to policies and procedures
· Supervise and assist with chores, follow through on household and vehicle appearance.
· Look for and document any safety breaches and provide fire/emergency drills and document
· Follow policies on safety ensuring safety compliance for both personal and company vehicles, cabinets, med room; all areas that are required to be locked are kept locked
· Implement CPR and First Aid policies and procedures
· Transport clients using the MSBR vehicle adhering to MSBR policies.
· Participate in meetings/trainings; implement policies and treatment plans that meet MSBR and program standards
· Offer and document medication to client as prescribed and according to policy (applies only to staff trained on medications at MSBR)

Qualifications:
· Effective, professional written and verbal communication skills
· Able to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions
· Sound decision making ability
· Ability to successfully work with the special needs of children in care
· Must be at least 21 years old.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience working directly with children or two years of social service education may be substituted for the required experience.
Pre-Employment and Continuing Requirements
· Fingerprint clearance through Federal and State Agencies
· TB exam
· Valid Driver License
· Proof of current automobile insurance
· Clean DMV printout; must be insurable through MSBR
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
· First Aid/CPR
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
· Ability to provide supervision at all times to clients who have experienced abuse and neglect
· Ability to hear sounds at normal levels with or without correction.
· Close and distance vision to include peripheral vision and depth perception.
· Duties include use of hands and fingers, operate a computer, periods of standing or sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs., running, walking, hiking, participating in recreation and sports activities, ability to perform physical restraints as needed to support the safety of the client
· Able to dodge/respond quickly to remove self from unsafe situations or sit for an extended period
Work Environment:
· Licensed Residential Facilities
· Community based activities
Expected Hours of Work: Shifts and schedule will vary.
Travel: Generally local travel only unless traveling for training or conference purposes.
