Summary Description:
Operates multiple Shot Blast Equipment to clean and polish castings to a uniform finishing to properly inspect and ship casting to customers.
Essential Functions:
- Places castings into Shot blast equipment and adjust cycle time to get desired casting finish.
- Operates multiple machines in sequence to efficiently maintain production demands.
- Follows shipping department’s schedule and/or leaders’ instructions for product selection.
- Maintains blast area organized by staging work blasted for packaging in designated area.
- Loads machine with new shot to maintain amps at around 20 during shot cycle.
- Sweeps and reintroduces lost shot from equipment on a regular basis.
- Reports defects on casting to department Leader.
- Maintains clean work area.
- Performs weekly Preventive maintenance check on equipment.
- Performs dust collection maintenance once a day to guarantee casting cleanliness.
- Helps packaging department when needed by performing visual inspection on castings.
- Ensure all products are identified with the proper shop card after blasting.
- Reports any maintenance issues or equipment concerns to the department Leader.
- Carries out all duties & responsibilities in full accordance with the Company’s policies & procedures.
- Perform all other job-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Skills or Experience Required:
High School degree or equivalent. Prior Experience helpful but not required.
