Description
Position Summary: Hands-on working in the pigment area to perform pigment preparation duties.
Role Description: Operation of Pigment Mixing equipment and scales to mix pigment for Engineered Stone Manufacturing based on product recipe and SOP.
Responsibilities:
- Hands-on working in the pigment area to perform pigment preparation duties.
- Blending pigment
- Quality management: Comparing size and color of chips with sample
- Tracking and conducting pigment inventory
- Weighing/bagging pigment for upcoming production needs
- Assisting on mixing side when necessary
- Keeping pigment area neat and clean
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and Work Experience:
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have the ability to calculate simple math equations
- Must have the ability to read a scale
- Must read and write English
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have a strong attention to detail
- The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Technical skills as well as good reasoning ability, communication, interpersonal, and communications skills are essential.
- Prefer at least two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in a quality related capacity.
May encounter the following chemicals:
- Acetone
- UPE resin
- Styrene
- Silica dust
- Peroxide
- Cobalt
- Silane
- Powdered pigments
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
- Ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time.
- Ability to work overtime hours as needed with little or no notification.
