Youth Volunteer Specialist
Description

The Youth Volunteer Specialist is responsible for the programming and operations of SALSA (Serve And Learn Student Association). This involves:

  1. Planning agendas, arrange speakers, recruit projects and facilitate all Serve and Learn Student Association (SALSA) meetings at participating schools.
  2. Providing regular communication with the SALSA Members and parents regarding upcoming volunteer opportunities.
  3. Overseeing Youth Action Council (YAC) student leadership team including selecting members, facilitating meetings, and summer planning.
  4. Facilitating all SALSA volunteer events and group activities.
  5. Maintaining regular communication with the teacher and principal contacts at the schools served.
  6. Maintaining a comprehensive and accurate database to record and validate youth volunteer hours, and provide hours to students upon individualized requests.
  7. Planning and executing an annual recognition event for students.
  8. Supporting the Volunteer Connections programming for Sioux Empire and Black Hills

This role is 30-35 hours a week.

This role has the option to be a 10 month contract with the months of June and July off. 

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience working with youth preferred
