Purpose and Scope:
We’re seeking a hands-on Customer Solutions Architect who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution equally comfortable designing enterprise-level architecture and rolling up their sleeves to build, configure, and troubleshoot alongside the team. This role centers on AI adoption, governance, scalability, and efficiency, and calls for an enthusiastic advocate who helps our teams and customers deliver better, faster business outcomes.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Identifies and owns entire technical solution requirements in the development of enterprise-wide data-driven information systems.
- Creates specific technical design, product and vendor selection, application, and technical architectures.
- Provides subject matter expertise on applicable technologies and platforms and leads decision processes to identify the best options.
- Serves as the owner of complex technology implementations, with an eye toward constant reengineering and refactoring to ensure the simplest and most elegant system possible to accomplish the desired need.
- Ensures strategic alignment of technical design and architecture with business growth and direction and stays current on emerging technologies.
- Contributes to the development and management of product roadmaps, backlogs, and measurable success criteria, and writes user stories.
- Enhances and maintains a systems/solutions architecture for a large data processing and reporting system that supports continued growth and modernization of current data repositories and a growing pool of internal and external stakeholders.
- Develops and designs complex solutions, through collaboration, across a variety of data, data-centric applications, and Big Data cloud architectures.
- Develops solutions using Agile frameworks and modern automation strategies, including AnalyticOps, DataOps, and DevSecOps hyper-automation methodologies.
- Spearheads continuous innovation and improvement, and leads the cultural ethos for the project or program (e.g., advocating for consumer-driven engineering).
- Serves as the final-tier subject matter expert for assigned technical areas, staying directly engaged in execution rather than working in a purely advisory capacity.
- Collaborates closely with the program Chief Architect and may augment the role of Deputy Chief Architect for AI implementation and adoption.
- Leads and manages individuals and teams, providing people-management support through coaching, mentoring, 1:1 meetings, and career growth.
- Understands and configures enterprise-grade platforms, especially those involving AI feature management (MCP, A2A), governance, and model orchestration ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Maintains governance frameworks spanning the full AI lifecycle: policy management, risk assessment, bias/fairness monitoring, audit logging, transparency, immutability, and regulatory compliance.
- Create seamless integrations with CI/CD pipelines, identity/access controls, APIs, repositories, and monitoring systems.
- Implements enterprise deployment models that safeguard data and AI security across PII/PHI, access control, and authorization mechanisms.
- Trains teams and customer end users, develop onboarding and adoption materials, and leads workshops to drive utilization and trust in AI workflows.
- Builds consensus across multiple stakeholder groups data science, DevSecOps, compliance, business, and end users around secure AI capabilities and platform value.
- Evaluates and recommends generative AI, LLM, and agentic frameworks best suited to specific customer and mission needs.
- Designs, prototypes, and iterates AI agent workflows and proofs of concept to demonstrate measurable business value ahead of full-scale rollout.
- Tracks the evolving generative AI and agentic technology landscape, identifying emerging tools, vendors, and best practices worth adopting.

Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or other related scientific or technical discipline. With ten years of general information technology experience and at least four years of specialized experience, a degree is not required.
- Minimum of 10 years of leading system architecture of complex Data Pipeline and Analytics systems on the cloud.
- Strong experience in software engineering, including implementing engineering best practices and iterative/continuous engineering principles.
- 6+ years of hands-on data-centric software development experience and designing solutions on complex architectures (Databricks, Hadoop, EMR, Spark, Redshift etc.).
- Demonstrated experience applying AI/ML technologies (e.g., generative AI, LLMs, or model orchestration) within enterprise-scale architectures.
- Proven experience with data augmentation, data quality analysis, data analytics (anomalies and trends), data profiling, data algorithms, data maturity model development and measurement, and data strategy recommendations.
- Proven experience designing secure data solutions with PHI and PII and the associated governance.
- Experienced collaborating with customers and stakeholders to present solutions and drive user adoption.
- Experienced designing cost-optimized, scalable cloud solutions.
- Experienced resolving architecture issues that impact scalability and performance for large-scale systems and datasets.
- Experienced with rapid prototyping and greenfield project creation.
- Demonstrable experience aligning consensus across multiple interested/affected groups.
- Diverse, outcomes-driven consulting capacity across client environments.
- Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Experience working in an Agile or SAFe environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust, residing in the United States.
Desired Qualifications:
- Industry experience a plus (Medicare, Medicaid, Healthcare, or commercial insurance) or direct experience with government agency Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
- Data platform certifications (e.g., Databricks), Coding Certifications (Python, R, etc.) and/or AWS Cloud Certifications.
- Successful applied AI outcomes achieving meaningful and measurable improvements or planned outcomes.
- Certifications/Training involving maintaining, designing, and implementing AI/ML Architectures.
- Hands-on experience building or deploying generative AI applications, including LLM integration, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic workflows.
- Familiarity with AI orchestration and vector database tooling (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI, Pinecone).
- Experience evaluating or piloting emerging AI agent protocols and standards (e.g., MCP, A2A).
Working Environment:
eSimplicity supports a hybrid and remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager.
Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 5-10% per year.
