Risk Control Manager - Caldwell, ID
Full-time | On-site | $65,000–$70,000/year
We’re expanding our Risk Control Department and looking for a compliance centered, Risk Control Manager who can bring their energy and ideas to life across fleet of drivers. If you can think through cross-functional initiatives with a drive to foster a culture of safety, you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Do
- Champion a company-wide safety culture by educating employees, reinforcing best practices, and ensuring safety becomes part of every department’s daily workflow
- Coach drivers through positive, skills-based development, using telematics, DOT inspections, and HOS data to help drivers improve performance and remain compliant
- Lead quarterly one-on-one driver coaching sessions focused on safe driving habits, professional growth, and Leonard’s commitment to getting every driver home safely
- Conduct accident investigations including documentation, reporting, DOT-reportability assessments, and coordination of post-accident procedures
- Monitor daily compliance metrics such as HOS violations, telematics alerts, and inspection results, providing timely coaching and corrective guidance
- Facilitate weekly safety and orientation training covering HOS rules, accident procedures, and company policies
- Coordinate company-wide safety meetings and contribute to new training programs that strengthen driver knowledge and reduce risk
- Collaborate with Terminal Directors and Driver Advocates to apply the Driver Corrective Action Plan and maintain clear communication on driver performance
- Support injured employees by initiating workers’ compensation claims and ensuring proper reporting and follow-up
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to driver and company concerns, including after-hours on-call support
- Stay current on industry regulations and safety trends, updating internal documentation and advising leadership on key changes

Education & Experience
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable experience in a similar role
- Experience in a supervisory position preferred
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe tools, & TMW
Other Requirements
- Must be available for on-call duties with either drivers or dispatch
- Occasional travel for professional development and/or company terminal meetings
