Parts Counter Representative


Toyota of Cedar Park is seeking a Parts Counterperson to join our dealership's Parts Department. This role is responsible for providing exceptional service to customers, technicians, and vendors while supporting daily parts operations, inventory management, merchandising, and warehouse organization. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, knowledgeable about automotive parts.


Position Summary

The Parts Counter Rep serves as a key point of contact for anyone purchasing or needing automotive parts. This position assists over the phone and in-person, processes parts orders and transactions, maintains inventory accuracy, supports merchandising efforts, and contributes to the overall success, safety, and profitability of the Parts Department.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Maintain required training and product knowledge related to the parts position.
  • Receive and fulfill telephone orders.
  • Locate and pull parts from inventory to fulfill customer requests.
  • Accurately prepare sales invoices and process transactions.
  • Collect and process customer payments.
  • Inspect returned parts and process returns according to company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Assist with annual inventory counts and inventory control processes.
  • Store and organize parts in designated warehouse locations.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Submit required daily paperwork and reports.
  • Record and maintain lost sales information.
  • Foster a positive team environment and contribute to departmental goals.

Qualifications

  • Previous automotive parts experience.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership management systems.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Exceptional dependability and attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Clear driving record for the past four (4) years.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Work Environment

This position typically requires working 45 hours per week on a rotating schedule between 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., including some Saturdays and holidays. Employees are expected to meet performance goals while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, carrying, and climbing.
  • Ability to work in varying weather and temperature conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular use of hearing, vision, speaking, and manual dexterity to perform job duties.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is non-exempt and does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Salary Description
$4500 per month
