Job Summary:
The Production Control Specialist is a critical member of the PFI InStore team, responsible for ensuring efficient production processes and seamless workflow from planning to execution. This role focuses on monitoring production schedules, managing inventory levels, and optimizing resource allocation to meet production demands. The Production Control Specialist will work closely with various departments to ensure that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to ensure timely completion of customer orders while balancing capacity and resource availability.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, placing orders when necessary to prevent shortages and ensuring smooth production flow.
- Coordination with Departments: Liaise with purchasing, manufacturing, and logistics teams to ensure alignment on materials, production timelines, and shipment schedules.
- Data Analysis: Analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, forecast needs, and recommend process improvements.
- Problem-Solving: Address any production delays or issues effectively, developing contingency plans and communicating solutions to relevant stakeholders.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, inventory statuses, and scheduling adjustments to support reporting and compliance.
- Process Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency, reducing waste, and increasing overall productivity.
- Ad hoc Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors to support team objectives and operational goals.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in production control, scheduling, or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge: Familiarity with production control concepts, practices, and procedures, along with experience in using manufacturing resource planning (MRP) software.
