Derby Academy is seeking caring, energetic, and dependable individuals to join our Stay & Play after-school program for the 2026–2027 school year. This program provides a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for students in Preschool through Grade 5 after the school day ends.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage students during after-school care.
- Foster a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment where every child feels welcome.
- Promote positive behavior through clear expectations and encouraging interactions.
- Assist with snack time, transitions, and daily routines.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students while following school policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and families when appropriate.
- Help maintain organized and welcoming program spaces.
SCHEDULE
Typical shifts include:
- Monday–Thursday: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM
Applicants may be available for some or all of these days.
Compensation
Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications. Range is $17.00 - $30.00 per hour.

Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a school, camp, childcare, recreation, or similar setting preferred.
- High school students (16+), college students, education majors, and adults are encouraged to apply.
- Positive attitude, flexibility, reliability, and enthusiasm.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to actively participate in games and outdoor activities.
- Successful completion of required background checks before employment.
