Description

     

Position Overview: Responsible for   ensuring customer satisfaction through quality and food safety standard is   being followed. Upholding state, federal and local regulations and customer   expectations. Provides leadership in   the development of quality staff to meet customer and business   initiatives. 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform environmental plant swabbing. 
  • Monitor oven time and temperatures.
  • Inspect incoming pre-printed packaging: Verification of all        shipments of food contact packaging. 
  • Perform belt/ glass & brittle plastic inspections.
  • Works closely with Executive Director of Quality & Technical        Research, Quality Assurance Manager, and Supplier Quality Manager to        meet optimum plant output.
  • Responsible for leadership development and strategies to        strengthen succession planning within the department using performance        and annual reviews.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for quality        standards.
  • Oversee QA Tech scheduling: Work with supervisors and lead on all        shifts to ensure proper coverage based upon what is running. 
  • Perform QA equipment calibrations based upon procedure manuals. 
  • Perform training of new QA employees and continue training of        current employees.
  • Perform testing of finished product and equipment.
  • Perform security checks in all of three building. 
  • All other reasonable work requests from Supervisors and Managers.
  • Perform Micro-Sample collection when needed: To ensure daily        samples are collected for microanalysis in a sanitary manner and meet        customer requirements. 
  • Any other duties Manager or Director see fit

 

Non-Essential Job Functions:

  • Participates on committees and engaging in special projects.
  • Daily interaction with production        Supervisors, Leads, QA Manager, Ex. Director of QA & Technical        Research, EX. Director of Operations, Production Manager.
  • Daily interaction with production operators, quality technicians        and mechanical technicians on all shifts. 
  • Frequent interaction with vendors and contractors.

 

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience working in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Food Safety Certification (HACCP, PCQI or SQF) 
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adheres to all company        safety policies.
  • Previous or proven leadership skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills-Microsoft Word, Excel, Nav.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ethical conduct.
  • Strong time management skills.

Other Skills/Abilities:

Ability to work individually and in a team setting.
