Description

Skowhegan Savings Bank seeks an individual to join our team as a Facilities Operator. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday with occasional Saturday and/or weekend work.  

We are looking to hire between $19.00 to $22.00 per hour.  This position has growth potential up to $25.77 per hour


Position Summary:

Facilities Operators are responsible for the general maintenance of the bank’s facilities, equipment, grounds and company owned vehicles.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for conducting opening security procedures at the Main Office and Operations Center.
  • Responsible for maintaining bank facilities including but not limited to: interior and exterior painting; correcting bank-wide maintenance deficiencies; interior and exterior cleaning; delivery of furniture, fixtures and equipment to branches; and maintaining neat and organized maintenance storage areas and supply rooms.
  • Assist Facility Manger with various maintenance and physical security by scheduling preventative maintenance, placing service calls, and assisting contractors as necessary.
  • Assists with the bank’s waste management and recycling program.
  • Responsible for the centralized distribution of all maintenance and janitorial supplies.
  • Responsible for the management of the bank’s record retention program including maintaining facilities maintenance documents, delivery of bank records to the retention facility and annual records destruction and shredding.
  • Responsible for monitoring, trouble shooting and testing various mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Simple in-house project costing, assembles pricing, and orders all janitorial supplies.
  • Works with electricians and basic electrical duties such as changing light bulbs, monitors indoor air quality, and responds to internal customer issues and makes program changes to HVAC equipment.
  • Oversee the testing of various banking and facility equipment and systems including all generator systems, emergency lighting systems, and fire extinguishers.
  • Schedules regular maintenance of all bank-owned vehicles and verify all drivers have proper documentation.
  • Occasional Saturday and/or weekend work to open buildings and assist contacts when work cannot be completed during normal business hours.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.


Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED required 
  • Three plus (3+) years of related experience and/or training, including hands-on carpentry experience. 
  • Valid Maine Driver’s License required


Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in facility operations and maintenance.
  • Carpentry skills, finish carpentry skills a plus.
  • Understanding of all construction aspects such as carpentry and plumbing a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Outgoing, assertive, confident and enthusiastic personality.
  • Strong multi-tasking and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Must be dependable, flexible, a team player, professional and calm under pressure.

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 plus pounds, with assistance.
  • The position is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
  • Position works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
