Arapahoe County Water and Wastewater Authority (ACWWA, pronounced Aqua) provides the drinking water and wastewater services to the people living and working within its service area. The service area is comprised of about 3,500 residences and businesses located primarily in Arapahoe and northern Douglas Counties.

About the Position

The Business Operations Manager oversees utility billing, customer service, contract administration, and administrative operations while leading a team of customer service, billing, and administrative professionals.

The ideal candidate will be an attentive listener, engaging effectively with their team, colleagues, and customers alike. The Business Operations Manager should be comfortable managing a diverse range of responsibilities while demonstrating strong time management and leadership skills. A keen eye for detail, a passion for problem-solving, and a commitment to advancing ACWWA's Mission and Vision are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the utility billing and accounts receivable processes.
  • Preparing operational and financial metrics, reports  and data summary for leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert for ACWWA's Customer Information System (CUZI)
  • Managing customer communications  and public notifications
  • Overseeing contract administration and office operations
  • Supervising, coaching, and  developing staff

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a collaborative leader with strong analytical, organizational, and customer service skills. Experience in utility billing, business operations, financial reporting, and employee supervision is highly desirable. Public utility experience is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years of relevant  professional experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Hiring Range: $90,000-$120,000

The pay range for this position is listed above. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for this position. In addition, ACWWA considers several other factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, the candidate’s work experience, education/training and key skills.
