Iowa Orthopedic Center is actively seeking a Physician Assistant for our busy Shoulder practice. This position will provide initial contact to new shoulder patients, assess postop and return patients, and work collaboratively with the care team to provide excellent service to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:?
- Provide primary or specialty medical care with the supervision of a physician
- Provide services by collecting data required for diagnosis and performing authorized and approved procedures and services
- Perform initial patient screenings, obtains and evaluates medical histories, performs physical examinations, performs therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
- Counsel patients on medical problems, use of medications, expected effects of treatment, and other health maintenance matters
- Make entries in patient’s permanent medical records
- Coordinate patient care with other members of health care team
- Monitor the effectiveness of care
- On Call: NO CALL REQUIIRED
- A master’s degree and certification by one of the Physician Assistant certifying bodies is required
- Must have current licensures
- Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions
