Job Summary:

You are the individual responsible for all foods that enter the restaurant space. You maintain the walk-ins and proper food rotation. You will prep all food in a timely manner according to the daily prep list. Your duties will include supplying the AM, PM, and Event space with the required mise en place. This includes placing the proper amount of prep in the right location for service.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Being to work on time and ready to work
  • Set up the kitchen space daily
  • Ensure Sani-buckets are set up and maintained throughout the shift
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the workspaces and walk-ins
  • Label and date all products, consolidate all food needed, and proper food rotation (FIFO)
  • Prep all products for their respective departments and place them in the appropriate location for use/travel
  • Make sure all foods are prepped according to specifications and stored properly in the walk-in
  • Make an effort to help in other areas of the kitchen when applicable
  • All walls, counters, and equipment is maintained, organized, and cleaned daily
  • Maintain the integrity of your personal knives and tools and respect the tools made available to you
  • Restock/refill all items such as oil, salt, pepper, spices, etc., to ensure the space is ready for the next day (you kill it, you fill it)
  • Help Steward stock all deliveries in proper storage bins and locations
  • Break down any boxes related to incoming orders and restocking
  • Ensure prep lists are completed for the shift, and you have checked out with the supervisor
  • Working clean

Essential Job Functions:

  • Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment
  • Cut cooked or raw foods
  • Prepare foods for cooking or serving
  • Assist chefs or caterers with food or drink preparation
  • Inspect facilities, equipment, or supplies to ensure conformance to standards
  • Sort and remove the trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
Requirements
  • The ideal candidate must possess experience in a kitchen environment with a farm-to-fork background 
  • Ability to manage multiple job tasks at any time
  • Ability to work efficiently to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Own and maintain appropriate knives for the job
  • Organized with an attention to detail, being self-motivated, and able to work in a team environment
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills and consistently demonstrate the desire to be consistent
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, squat, reach, and walk 8 to 10 hours a day
  • Able to grasp, lift, carry. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. in short intervals throughout the day
  • Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Salary Description
$17-$20/Hr with Quarterly Bonuses
