Description

EVS is seeking a Network Engineer III to support an upcoming proposal effort. *  The Network Tier 3 Engineer provides mission-essential Tier 3 network engineering support from Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The position performs network analysis, design, engineering, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, sustainment, and technical support for the EACN Systems Integration Laboratory and the operational Air to Global Information Grid Gateways.

  

*This position is contingent upon the award of the contract. The anticipated start date and scope of work will be determined based on the outcome of the interview process and the details of the awarded contract.

  • Provide network analysis and design services; engineer, evaluate, and recommend new technologies to meet EACN requirements and optimize network and system performance.
  • Assist the EACN Program Manager with oversight of the EACN platform, including configuration and change management, technical architecture, and current- and future-state planning.
  • Assist with troubleshooting network issues at the Joint Base Andrews and Joint Base Lewis-McChord operational gateways and on platforms that access those gateways.
  • Support approved EACN A2G2 hardware configuration and installation requirements.
  • Establish and maintain the A2G2 baseline configuration and the Systems Integration Laboratory, including installation and functional testing of software versions, Time Compliance Technical Orders, patches, Time Compliance Network Orders, and other directives.
  • Implement approved baseline modifications needed to support additional Operational Support Airlift/Executive Airlift, Mobility Air Forces, and Roll-On/Roll-Off assets.
  • Assist with installation, removal, or replacement of equipment; make configuration changes; and train incoming Government or contractor personnel on A2G2 configuration standards at JBA, JBLM, and Scott AFB.
  • Provide the Network Installation and Configuration Guide before changes are made to an operational system, network, or gateway.
  • Ensure new hardware, software, and configuration changes are documented, installed, and tested in the SIL before operational deployment.
  • Configure and maintain a test and evaluation gateway supporting troubleshooting, aircraft developmental and operational test and evaluation, and operational baseline configuration.
  • Update EACN checklists, policies, diagrams, and technical documents as directed; perform network and system backups in accordance with DISA STIG and Government guidance.
  • Recommend configuration changes, track future upgrades, develop solutions, identify deficiencies and new requirements, and implement requested system and configuration changes.
  • Create scripts, executables, graphs, and maps to configure and use networked computers.
  • Maintain servers through disk management, cleanup, backups, approved updates and patches, secure device connectivity, and use of SNMP tools to gather statistics.
  • Provide technical and configuration information for all three A2G2 locations and for trend analysis of network availability, utilization, outages, and overall system health.
  • Review router, switch, firewall, routing, subnetting, domain name, network management, encryption, and satellite transmission configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Configure and implement fault-tolerant disaster-recovery solutions on servers and network devices.
  • Support and sustain VoIP capabilities in the Scott SIL and the JBA, JBLM, and Scott AFB operational environments.
  • Design and implement technical solutions for integrating new network transport capabilities into EACN when directed.
  • Perform duties on-site at Scott AFB, Illinois.
Requirements
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification, minimum.
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Active TOP SECRET security clearance at the time of contract award.
Salary Description
$115,000 to $125,600 annual based on experience
